How Asians fuel racism against ‘Blacks’
By way of standardised stereotypes
I was driving through a small town heading to do a marketing promo gig. I was excited and started my day with fresh energy.
On my way, I stopped at a gas station for fuel, which I paid for by card before finding another spot in front of the store.
I decided to get a cup of coffee and attempted to enter the petrol station where a round-faced, chubby, cheeked and squinty-eyed Asian man was putting baked goods on the glass counter.
His appearance would not have bothered me, nor would I have ever had the urge to even say something about that in this instance and share that with the world if it wasn’t for his racist bigotry.
Mind you, I was headed to do some promo work that day looking bright and sharp. Though I had left my fro at home as I did not want to overdo it. I was full of energy and funk.
There was nothing about me that looked threatening. Furthermore, my face was not hidden and fully identifiable.
Here is what happened as I tried to enter the gas station. The glass doors would not open despite repeated peeps from the door sensors. After two peeps and me stepping back and forward and waving at that sensor, I made a hand gesture, asking the worker to open the door.
I got my coffee, paid and walked out.
Halfway through my coffee, I decided I needed to refill my bottle of water.
It was about ten past seven, with two people now standing in the queue inside, a man and a woman without any visible pigmentation.
Again, the door refused to open automatically. After three peeps and me waving at the employee and raising my arm once again towards the sensors. The employee reached for something with his hand as the two white people decided to walk towards the door.
I asked what was wrong with the door first after asking him to refill my water bottle. This petrol station had no water dispenser, but he was standing in a pantry with a normal sink.
As he refilled my water, he turned around to hand over my bottle back to me and then he said with a smirk on his face, “We have a lot of robberies here” — looks me up and down — he added, “It's for our safety.”
Right.
I walked out with my water bottle and looked at the entrance of that gas station. I noticed two more cars pulling up, including a van with two white men in it. I noticed those white people managed to walk right through.
It appeared as though some people didn’t have to deal with unnecessary bumps on their road that early.
I drove away and emptied that water out of my bottle. Sought refuge from satan a few times more and made sure I had a brilliant day.
The sun was up, and I knew I was luckier for not being bothered by its shine as much as it would be a hazard to others that crossed my path that day.
This is how racism is kept alive and why it’s still affecting those who look different, even though it's projected differently, and so are its implications. In this case, usually, those that stand out — blacks and Muslims in Islamic gear.
And how all Asians make use of its existence.
I am sure this adult, non-brown Asian man was not frightened by my business casual look, nor did he actually think I was walking inside the gas station to rob him of his croissants. This squinty-eyed almost -miaowing- round-faced Asian knew what he was doing.
God forgive me, as He created the Asians too.
A tactical move to showcase how Asians manage to steal jobs from people of colour while also keeping stereotypes, frictions/stigmas alive and using that to their advantage.
This man’s subtle actions influence and thus feed into the psychological perceptions of the already existing standard stereotype.
Oh, and did I mention that the print of the fabric of my pants was a reason to expose hidden hatred and further bigotry for some people? Disguised as a joke, of course; not a fun pants, not a cute pants, not a what-a-clown pants, definitely not just a pants. Nope, it was dubbed — the stripper pants.
The usual bland and boring suspects with no sense of humour attempting to be funny instead of healing their secret additions, parading around in front of this bandwagon, too, as they do.
Also, women revealing what their deepest desired workplace would be.
The anti-black and Muslim sentiment is revived due to the influx of certain humans and has been alive and doing quite well thanks to mass social media propaganda from certain corners of the world. As a result, there is no problem with mass Asian immigration even though the urgency of such type of immigration is questionable. To top it off always an Asian around to seize every bit of race moment they can.
Indians tried with their “dark white” and persistent love declaration to whites.
One of which of these campaigns is still standing.
Sponsored by the witchcraft, whites respond so well, too.
If you by now do not understand how racism is played out and why it’s a recurring culprit for some while others benefit from it, something is switched off in your head.
