Negotiation skills, especially for women, are essential.

They uplift your spirit and improve your life.

Build a report, and make sure there was a relationship before your engagement in any negotiation process.

When you are precise about what you want, you are credible. A personality trade you should strive to have as a working professional. You are serious about your career; thus, getting that investment for your new business, a promotion or a pay rise requires a lot of pleading and a firm stance.

Be open to anything. Do not forget about your opponent’s interests. Let your negotiation partner know that their interests are vital to you. Use your gut feeling as a sudden insight. You know who you have Infront of you. So, if they were reliable in the past, you are all ears to what they are saying now. But do not respond to what is being said yet. Listening and patience while communicating with others is a sign of respect.

Your whole game plan should be consistent. Consistency is an indication of confidence. It is a sign of self-awareness and knowledge, perhaps even expertise. With consistency, you are giving off the right vibes straight away. You demonstrate that you are sure of what you are doing(confidence) and able to refute any opposing arguments(knowledge). Confident people, not conceded people are credible people.

Focus on all the positive aspects that brought you to this job position or company or even the people you willingly choose to work for and with.
Get passed the stated positions while negotiating. Keep your mind on your long term interest.

Settle on what is preferable for all participants because both you and your opponent can come out of this process worse. Listen actively and acknowledge what you have understood. Your opponent will feel appreciated. This can lead to them listening to what you are saying as well. They may even adjust their views about you, whereas at first, you might have come across as a strong opponent with your eagerness and enthusiasm.

They might now view you as kind and empathic whose opinions are worth listening to.
At the end of the day, you are in a sales pitch because you want to gain something from this process; speak with a purpose. Be mindful that too much communication can be confusing, which is also a problem.

Determine beforehand whether the statement you are about to make is significant at that moment. Thinking is a skill that can be taught. It's not a personality trade.

In the event of having to deal with too many negative responses. Know that that is the moment to quiet your brain. Not saying anything at that moment is the best thing to do. Go for what is preferable at that moment; handle an issue before it becomes a bigger issue.

Being flexible rather than concise can make it challenging to agree on something. Be determined and not afraid to make decisions right away. The first hunch can be a good indicator in your decision process. However, you may want to think things through when deciding on a significant investment. The whole purpose of thinking is to reach a sense of emotional gratification.Uuuhgggh emotions again?
Yes, humans are emotional beings. Do not apologise for it as the best decisions are passionate ones.
