Amazon Ignite was a feature on amazon that allowed former teachers, pedagogic staff and other educators to create educational resources.

Most educators dream of adding to and shaping the future generations' outlook on life.

Thus that was what Amazon Ignite was for. It was different from Kindle, but still, it was a framework that gave those passionate about their craft, i.e. education, a platform and a voice. Those who happened to be creative and wanted to reach out to young minds a means to do so. It was a tool that enabled teachers who wanted to expand and sometimes challenge the curriculum to express themselves. It was a place to be creative and experiment with unconventional teaching methods.
There was content that met all the academic guidelines but was far more engaging. It was meant for the curious mind that is sometimes tired of old uninteresting fairy tales. There were some very intriguing and fun books produced via amazon ignite. Different from the old tedious method of teaching with outstanding artwork from young illustrators and even better lessons to be learned.

Amazon has decided to discontinue that program allowing former educators to create educational material for the most vulnerable members of our communities. It was never meant to encourage people to write content that would pollute a young mind. It was more so an accepting place for Edu—creators who were trying to contribute to equipping other generations better to come.

A generation that is switched on, resilient, more understanding and perhaps also slightly more compassionate. In my eyes, ideally, a balanced and happier generation.

Perhaps it was more of a too-ambitious project that Amazon was experimenting with. Maybe Kindle was too popular, and it was difficult for Ignite to catch on and stick around as it had a far better-performing bigger brother. Technically one can create the same kind of content with Kindle.

Or perhaps it was another case of the #MUTEFreeSpeech matter, as some creators were conservatives who wished to uphold traditional morals and views on biology.

Whatever the case, Amazon must have thought it through to make this executive decision. It was more likely a money matter.

Overall, it is pretty disappointing for this feature to disappear.
